Do we really want to get pickpocketed in Cuenca Ecuador? Not exactly; we're just trying to show people what its like...because no one wants to have anything taken from them because it makes them feel bad that they weren't on their guard like they should have been. And just because it seems safe from thievery in Latin America doesn't mean it is. You could go weeks and months without incident and then one day it just happens. So it is good to know how to make yourself less of a target.
