These are my three rules for avoiding being a consumer. If you see it in a store and are about to buy it, ask yourself:
1. Can I live without it?
2. Is there something I can trade for it?
3. Can I get it cheaper somewhere else?
Hopefully those three questions will help you forget abot any consumer product or service you were considering wasting your money on, and cause you to look at the opportunities you could create for your money.
Forget about spending and get industrious with the way you acquire the things you need.
