We're still living it up in Ecuador, what about you? / Day in the Life Salinas VLOG

Yes, we're still living it up in Ecuador after 6.5 years of living here. I think we are 'true to life" expats that just love going through the challenges of life in a foreign land and telling you guys all about it. LOL... We hope you're still with us too.

My Perfect Wish Cuenca or Salinas Ecuador - Chipipe Beach VLOG

Hello Everyone! We've implemented some changes on the Gringo Good Samaritans (GGS) that will provide you with the information you need to stay on top of the travel abroad crowds. So when you get a chance please check it out here and here.

Here's a video commentary with a bit of a different perspective when it comes to going abroad on a more full-time basis. We have to remember that vacationing somewhere and living somewhere full time are two different things.

Day in the Life of Home Delivery Services in Salinas vs. Cuenca Ecuador

In Ecuador some foods and commodities are delivered right to your doorstep. But what happens when a delivery service isn't very efficient?  Back home we would simply look for a new delivery service and that's what you have to do here too. It's part of the life going local; every day is an adventure and every day you learn something new about the culture and its people, even after living here for 5 plus years!

Downsized in USA - Moving to Ecuador to be Middle Class Again

Someone commented on one of our videos that they were moving to Ecuador so they can be in the middle class again. It's sad when people feel pushed out of their own culture...and being downsized is not a very good reason to move to a foreign culture either; "discontent from within" cannot find content in a country or place.  And for that reason it is best for some people to stay where they were planted and start finding ways to live a comfortable but frugal lifestyle. In USA if you don't have to pay a high rent or mortgage there are so many ways to live in abundance and comfort...you just got to start thinking outside of the mainstream box and start enjoying life in the true sense of those two words.

Chicken Crepes, Earthquakes, Sugar in the Cheese? - Ecuador

Talking with you, dear readers and viewers while we wait for our chicken mushroom crepes at a new restaurant we're trying out. On another note, South America is located in the ring of fire, which means earth quake territory. It seems lately all of the South American countries on the Pacific side are having small earthquakes and daily tremors. Just something to be aware of. What's up with all the cheese prices in Ecuador? It's not even that good, most of it has sugar in it.

Live Comfortably on Less than $1000 in Cuenca Ecuador!

We've been living comfortably, happy, and healthy in Cuenca Ecuador for over three years! We miss absolutely nothing in our lives. We have everything we could possibly ever want and need. Everyone can do what we do with the exception of possibly building your own furniture. However furniture is a one time expense and with more and more expats coming to Cuenca it is very easy to sell your furniture to gringos moving here, if you ever decide to move!

The Point: It is possible to live on $1000 a month in Cuenca, IF you go local!
